Philipp Manuel Gutmann, born in Austria in 1993, studied composition at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna with Dirk D’Ase, where he graduated with distinction in 2017. He also studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Iris ter Schiphorst and at the Zurich University of the Arts with Kaspar Ewald and Isabel Mundry. 

His works are published by the music publishers Doblinger, Universal Edition, Kliment and Musikedition NÖ. He is a laureate of the composition competition “Tage der neuen Klaviermusik Graz” and has received several grants and scholarships from organizations such as the Federal Chancellery of Austria, the Federal Ministry or the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna in recent years. He lives and works in Vienna and Lower Austria.
